your music can be described as groovy techno. who or what had main influence on the development of your style? |
lucca:
i am very influenced by italian techno of davide squillace, marco carola, gaetano parisio, rino cerrone, markantonio etc. i like groovy basslines, foggy melodies, hidden structures.

you play many gigs all over europe. are your czech fans ever mad at you for being away so much? |
lucca: |
no really i am always playing two gigs in one month in our country, mainly in good clubs like radost fx prague and fabric ostrava. small town parties are good sometimes, too. but it is true that here are czech djs who are playing much more gigs in my country.

how come that in 2000 you were chosen for the red bull music acedemy in dublin? |
lucca: |
in that year i was beginning to really play in czech republic and be very interested about djing and producing. my manager brought me a material, aplication form. i filled the form and send a 30 minutes of demo tape to the organisers. after a month time they have sent me back that i was chosen. i was very happy about that of course. |

in 2002 you won the award "newcomer of the year" in your homecountry. was that a surprise for you? |
lucca: |
it was quite surprising, i must tell, because at the beginning some people from media were looking at me with not much respect. but on the other hand it was a big motivation that i saw that people like my music. |

since 2002 your bookings in spain are arranged by the agency hybernia. is playing in sunny spain of special importance to you? |
lucca: |
i am always looking forward to play in spain very much. there are excellent clubs like la real, octopus, family club, one madrid or florida 135. |

in 2002 you also toured through columbia. what do columbians do in a different a way when they party compared to europeans? |
lucca: |
it is influenced by the politic situation in columbia. parties in general visit mostly rich people and some clubs are controled by mafia also. but the way is same as in europe, the crowd was very nice everywhere i played. people enjoy music very much there. |

last summer your first own tracks were published and in september of this year the first ep on your own label acapulco will be released. why did you decide to found a label right now? |
lucca: |
i have decided to start my own label, because i need to have freedom to release what i like and not to wait long months if anybody will take it from me. i also colaborate with great studio guys chris cowie and davide squillace and i would like to release their stuff, too. it is also important to have a good distribution of the label. my label is under cpl distribution which i find one of the best. |
| | | |
| housefloor.de: |
what kinds of releases can we expect on acapulco? |
lucca: |
my acapulco debut will be out 4.10.2004 with tracks freedom and mirage 01 umek remix.
the style of music will be mostly groovy melody techno. no hard stuff.

what do you think, has it been harder for you to win recognition and become famous in the dj-scene than for your male colleagues or has it actually been easier for you as you are a woman? |
lucca: |
i don't judge or think about whether the dj is female ar male. but how is playing. i saw for example playing mistress barbara and she was so good, better than some male. but i haven't for example seen a female playing live. i think men are better in that.
i must say it was easier at the beginning to get gigs because i a a woman, but if i wasn't good and the people wouldn't like my music, i wouldn't have succes anyway.

when you play at a party do you often enter the dancefloor? |
lucca: |
when i can stay at the party after i finish my set or i can go there before and the music push me to dance i dance. i like it a lot. but most of the time i must hurry to the party nd after i have to go to sleep, because my plane is too early and i must be fresh for the next gig. |

what a relation do you see between the techno, house scene and drugs? |
lucca: |
hmmm, when i used to be a party girl i liked to smoke weed and experiment with smart drugs, but now as a dj with over 1o gigs a month, so i really have to take care about my health...but small testing of light drugs is fun sometimes and young people need some fun. i am very against regular use, important to say. people regulary on drugs are losing their soul and life. |

which tendencies do you see in the electronic scene? |
lucca: |
i see comeback to more melodic, but still energetic sound in techno.
electro is back....
in music in general comeback of british and american guitar bands, return of funky and soul.
