autotune wurde 1999 von adel dior und jan-eric scholz aka tony planet gegründet. ihre musik ist eine mischung aus techno, elektro und den elementen des funk. heute sind sie einer der gefragtesten live-acts der elektronischen musikszene sowohl in deutschland, als auch in japan – wo sie als techno-superstars gehandelt werden und auf festivals mit 25.000 besuchern spielen. das warten hat ein ende, unsere berliner helden von autotune melden sich zurück auf fumakilla. nach monatelanger und konzentrierter arbeit im studio, kommt nun die „department #1“ im gewohnt fetten autotune style, jedoch mit einer sehr warmen und emotionalen deepness, durch die sie sich von bisherigen produktionen abhebt.

autotune are adel dior and jan-eric scholz. these two berlin-headz have joined their forces in 1999 to push the world of glamour clubs into a new decade of funk`n`house. both guys come from a straight berlin clubbing background and started their own first musical works in the mid-90`s. after they experienced thousands of highly intense nights (and mornings) at berlin`s legendary clubnights at e-werk, planet, tresor etc. both decided that it`s time to get themselves organised and living as an artist became reality for them. both had several releases under various names but since the birth of autotune they are getting much more recognization all over the international scene.

autotune are one of the much sought-after live-acts in germany and had played on nearly all important raves and important techno clubs in the last 3 years. most of their constantly growing recognization they get in japan, where they deserve a treatment as same kind of techno-superstars and played 5 clubtours all over this country in the last 24 months. they also played and co-headlined the tokio based wire-festival and look forward to play there soon. their sound can be described somewhere between really fresh electro, straight techno and the perfect understanding of funk. after releases on m¸ller rec. and bpitch ctrl. berlin dj-star woody picked them for his very successful fumakilla label. on fumakilla autotune released 2 eps (blow funk e.p., player stuff e.p.) that became same kind of clubhits all over the european clubscene. especially the track "club deluxe" still can be heard on dancefloors everywhere, which may also be a result of the cool&nasty vocal snippets, but surely comes from the fact that it`s a high-quality techno-electro-tune, something autotune has as it`s trademark.

their impressive production talent wasn`t undiscovered and so fumakilla got various licensing requests for their tracks but autotune and the label decided to stay on an underground level and not to make the move-for-the-money. remix-wise they put their hands on e.g. tok tok vs. soffy o, air liquide and lexy&k-paul and always scored positive feedback as they understand to give every track that certain autotune-feeling. by the beginning of 2004 their next e.p. will hit the shops and it will surely only consists of tracks that make you go booooom.
