various music instruments, various geographical targets:
in the beginning p.toile played the flute. after this she tried to
play the violin until she decided to concentrate on electronic music
spinning the decks.
first she worked at a vinyl store in kiel / northern germany. there
she promoted her first parties with electronic dance music. from the
shore of the baltic sea she then moved to the river seine - to paris.
four years in the city d‘amour and she got to know half of the paris
techno scene. among them reynold, the owner of the little label
trenton, which released minimal electronic dance music of producers
from kiel, paris and elsewhere.
but the heart of the electronic dance music was still beating in
berlin. so p.toile and her mate reynold moved from the shadow 19th
century eiffel tower to within sight of the communist styled “fernsehturm”, the berlin tv tower, into the creative mess of berlin
friedrichshain, bang in the middle of the vibrant club and bar scene
in the east of the city. having a booking agency and the record label
put p.toile in a prime position, compiling the line-up for parties in
the city’s clubs, which helped shape the contemporary sound of berlin.
the popularity of this sound has been growing for several years abroad
leading p.toile to travel all the way across the continent, from
bilbao to moscow, providing the hot minimal shit the fans are longing
for. p.toile had this audience in mind when she recorded past present
future. a gift for friends - and a long-lasting memory of sweaty
dancing nights.
