Die 13 soll keine Unglückszahl sein für das Frankfurter Radioformat und Dance Label Big City Beats. So ist die 13. Ausgabe der Label-Compilation die erste Zusammenarbeit mit dem neuen Vertriebspartner Kontor. Also hat man einfach noch eins draufgelegt: der Sampler erscheint erstmals als 3CD-Set. |

Somit ist genug Platz für jede Menge melodischen Club-Sounds. CD1 widmet sich dabei vornehmlich Progressive und Trance.
Auf CD2 wird’s deutlich mehr housy. Mit ganz leichtem Latintouch und souligen Vocals verbreitet sie sommerliches Feeling.
CD3 mit dem Gast-Mix von Motorsoulcity geht dann in die deepe Richtung und ist dabei mal verspielt und auch mal verträumt.
Dabei gibt es viele Tracks, die man hervorheben kann: starke Vocals gibt es zum Beispiel von Pharell in dem Track der Swedish House Mafia „One“. Überraschend taucht „Troubled So Harder“ auf mit dem Vocal-Sample aus einer legendären Nummer von Moby, oder etwa auch Stephan M & Laurent Simeca mit einer Clubversion des Police-Klassikers „Roxanne“.

Housefloor Fazit
Der 3CD-Sampler „Big City Beats Vol. 13” ist ein rundes Paket, das einerseits stilistische Vielfalt bietet, wobei auch innerhalb der drei Mixe selbst eine schöne Mischung an Tracks gelungen ist.
